Main Recognitions of Paolo Mercorelli

In 1997, he was a Visiting Researcher for one year in the Department of Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Santa Barbara, USA.

He was awarded by the Marie Curie Actions research fellowship program sponsored by The European Commission in Year 1998 which he spent in ABB Corporate research Heidelberg. The Marie Curie Actions research fellowship program is a set of mobility research grant schemes funding pre- and post-doctoral researchers in Europe as well as experienced researchers from all over the world. The Marie-Curie Fellowships are Europe’s most competitive and prestigious awards, and are aimed at fostering interdisciplinary research and international collaborations.

In 2010 he received the call from the German University in Cairo (Egypt) for a Full Professorship (Chair) in Mechatronics which he declined. In 2011 he was a Visiting Professor at Villanova University, Philadelphia, USA, where he received the call for Professor of Dynamic Systems which he declined.

He received two Best Presentation Awards in 2013 and 2014. Both at the IECON Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, once in Vienna in 2013, and once in Dallas in 2014.

He received the Best Paper Award in Control at the IEEE International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technology (CoDIT’14) which took place in Metz, France.

He received the Award for the Best Conference Papers at the 18th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC), which took place from 28 to 31 May 2017 in Sinaia (Romania). The prize was awarded during the closing ceremony.

During Dies Academicus on July 5, 2017, at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Prof. Dr. Paolo Mercorelli was awarded for his excellent research and his consistently outstanding publication performance in 2016 by the Leuphana Research Prize.
